NordVPN speed and connection quality in Cabo Verde

We benchmark NordVPN on nearby Cabo Verde nodes during peak hours, measuring download retention, jitter and connection setup time. Its 9.7/10 speed score reflects consistent throughput rather than a single best-case run.

For latency-sensitive work in Cabo Verde, WireGuard typically gives the lowest ping and the quickest reconnect.

Streaming and apps in Cabo Verde

NordVPN earns 9.9/10 for streaming. For Cabo Verde, pick a streaming-optimised server rather than the nearest one — routing quality matters more than distance.

• Use provider-listed streaming servers, not the default nearest node
• Test during your normal viewing hours, not off-peak
• Keep the app updated — server lists change without notice

Security, privacy and logging

Security scores 9.8/10. NordVPN supports modern protocols (WireGuard, OpenVPN), a kill switch, DNS/leak protection and per-app split tunnelling on the main platforms.

We weight audited no-logs claims and leak protection above marketing features — that is where the 9.8/10 comes from.

• WireGuard and OpenVPN support
• Kill switch and DNS leak protection
• Audited no-logs posture (verify the latest audit date)
• Split tunnelling on supported platforms

Pricing, plans and refunds

NordVPN starts at $3.39/mo on long-term plans. The current coupon TOPVPN73 is applied at checkout. Longer plans cut the monthly cost sharply, but check the renewal price — not just the intro offer.

How to set up NordVPN in Cabo Verde

Total setup time is usually under five minutes on mobile and desktop. For routers, install the app on the router itself so every device in Cabo Verde is covered at once.

• Install the app for your device (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, or router).
• Sign in and pick a Cabo Verde-near server — or a streaming server if you need one.
• Enable the kill switch and DNS leak protection in settings.
• Run a leak test, then connect. If speed drops, switch protocol to WireGuard.

Who should choose NordVPN — and who should not

• Choose NordVPN if: you want Streaming and all-around performance and a strong all-round score.
• Choose something else if: you need the absolute lowest price, or a very specific server country.
• Best alternative for budget: pick the cheapest top-rated provider instead.
• Best alternative for privacy purists: an audited, open-source-first provider.

How we tested

Scores combine repeatable speed retention tests, streaming reliability checks, protocol and leak testing, and a review of each provider's latest third-party audit. We refresh pricing and server availability regularly. We are reader-supported and may earn a commission from links on this page — this does not change the ranking method.
